GM‑50649 Output Shaft Seal Installer — Updated Tool for Magna NQF/NQG Transfer Cases
Supersedes: GM‑43484
The GM‑50649 Output Shaft Seal Installer is the updated, OEM‑correct tool engineered for installing the new two‑piece front output shaft seal and slinger (dust shield) used in heavy‑duty and super‑heavy‑duty Magna NQF/NQG transfer cases. This redesigned seal requires a different installation depth than previous New Venture Gear applications, making the older GM‑43484 tool incompatible.
GM’s new seal design must be installed flush on both portions to prevent premature seal damage. The GM‑50649 ensures proper alignment, correct depth, and reliable installation every time. It also installs the updated slinger onto the output shaft. To help technicians distinguish it from the older tool, the GM‑50649 features a blue anodized finish, while the GM‑43484 remains natural aluminum.
This installer is required for back‑service on all Magna transfer cases (RPOs NQF, NQG, NQH, NP0) dating back to the 2007 model year and is planned for use across future light‑duty and heavy‑duty GM applications.
