Kent-Moore EL-51753 Battery Smoke Test Adapter Set

Dealership technicians are required to "smoke test" VOLT battery packs with the J-41413-A EVAP Cart/Smoke Machine. Smoke testing is required each time the cover is removed, to ensure watertight integrity and detect any leaks at the cover-to-tray sealing surface.

The BBDU electrical connectors must be plugged during the smoke test. Plug kits were developed for both the Gen 1 VOLT and the Spark-BEV. The two low voltage connectors on the Gen 2 VOLT BBDU are common with Gen 1, so those plugs can be reused. New plugs will be required for the remaining high voltage connectors (TPIM, ACCM, CHCM and APM/OBCM).

While the TPIM connector is unique, the remaining three are common, with the exception of keying. It is hoped that a common plug can be developed for three similar connectors. One of the 3 common plugs will have the Smoke Machine connection port.
