LKW engines have the camshafts held in a "ladder assembly", which is removed to service the valves, springs, or seals with the cylinder head on the engine in-vehicle. When the ladder assembly is removed, EN-50717 is mounted to the head to service the valve train. Currently, EN-50717 would mount where the ladder assembly say, and will contact the valve stems or springs, and will block access to some cylinders' valves. EN-50717-10 is a pair of long (approx. 350mm/14") legs that will span the cylinder head at the cam cover surface, approximately 40 cm above the valves. EN-50717-10 is used with the components from EN-50717 to service the valve train without contacting or damaging components, and without blocking access to any cylinders.
