Kent-Moore EN-52446 Rear Crankshaft Seal Installer
EN-52446 is used to install the rear crankshaft seal into the rear cover, and to guide the rear seal and cover assembly onto the rear of the crankshaft.
EN-52446 includes a seal installer, seal guide, assembly base, and hardware to install the seal into the cover and to guide the assembly onto the crankshaft. The assembly base is tightened in a vise, and the seal and cover are placed onto the base.
The included double-ended studs are installed into the base and the installer is placed onto the studs over the cover and seal. The included washers and long nuts are installed onto the studs over the installer and used to seat the seal into the cover. The hardware is removed from the assembly base, and then used to mount the installer guide onto the rear of the crankshaft.
EN-52483 guide studs (not included in EN-52446; available separately) are installed in place of the cover‑retaining bolts. Once sealant is applied to the cover, the seal is guided onto the EN-52446 guide while the cover assembly is aligned onto the guide studs. The cover can then be installed to the engine block and the fasteners installed.
Unapproved methods will damage the seal or the cover sealant.
