Time-Sert 0761D Chevrolet Big Block Head Bolt Thread Repair Kit

The Time-Sert 0761D Chevrolet Big Block Head Bolt Kit is a thread repair kit designed specifically for repairing head bolt threads in Chevrolet big block engines.

Time Sert 0761D 7/16 14 Repair Kit is used when the material thickness of the cast iron block is approximately 5/8 inches or 0.625 inches. If a repair needs to be done after a previously used thread repair method such as a Helicoil or another competitive brand has failed, it is recommended to use the Big Sert 5761E kit instead.

Chevrolet big block engines have head bolt threads that are located near the surface, which is why the shorter tooling that comes with the Time-Sert 0761D kit is all that is needed. To ensure that the inserts do not interfere with the cylinder head, a counter-bore tool is required to allow the inserts to sit flush.

It is important to note that GM/Chevrolet specifically recommends using Time-Sert for head bolt thread repairs.
