Drill America DADWTPT5INCH carbon steel pipe tap is specifically designed to clean or re-thread damaged or jammed pipe threads. Carbon steel pipe taps can be used for threading various materials, including both ferrous and non-ferrous ones.

It's important to note that the nominal size of a pipe tap corresponds to the size of the pipe fitting it will be used on, not the actual size of the tap itself.

The thread tapers at a rate of 3/4 of an inch per foot. Additionally, all pipe taps come with a 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 thread chamfer, allowing for easier threading.

When working with NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads, it is advisable to use a sealer such as Teflon tape or pipe compound to ensure proper sealing.
